As a member of the Helmholtz Association, the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research, headquartered in Braunschweig, operates top-level research in the field of infectious diseases. Our scientists develop novel methods and strategies to combat infectious diseases faster and more effectively. Our common goal are novel approaches to the prevention, diagnosis and therapy of infectious diseases. Our research focuses on bacterial and viral pathogens, their interplay with the immune system of humans and new active ingredients and vaccines.

As a central service and infrastructure unit, the Data Center division, led by Mr. Rafael Ignaczak, provides powerful and modern IT services for science and administration, making a significant contribution to the successes in HZI's infection research. At the locations Braunschweig, Hanover, Greifswald, Saarbrücken, Hamburg and Würzburg, the data center tackles diverse challenges with competence and team spirit in a complex IT environment.

You are the central contact person in the data center for all issues of cyber security and information security. The position combines the strategic further development with operational and technical involvement in a multi-site IT environment across all IT services.

Cyber Security Architecture Development of a cyber security architecture for on-premises, cloud and AI for the entire company in coordination with ISB, the IT specialist groups of the data center and other specialist departments Cyber Defense Technical Coordination of Operational Cyber-Defense Structures and Moderation of a Cross Unit Cyber Defense Support for operational safety measures and automation of safety-related processes Coordination of vulnerability management Security Monitoring and Incident Response Analysis and escalation of safety incidents and further development of operational safety processes Planning and evaluation of 24/7 monitoring and suitable security solutions such as SIEM, SOC and EDR/XDR Coordination of log and event sources and detection and alarm mechanisms Emergency Management and Resilience Planning and development of emergency processes and restart procedures Coordination of recovery, restore, vulnerability and penetration tests Further development of service continuity and availability management Compliance and control Coordination of implementation of BSI, ISO-27001, security and data protection requirements Control of external service providers and evaluation of new technologies and providers Coordination of security-relevant projects and advice on RZ management Interface function Coordination of security-relevant issues with internal and external stakeholders Participation in working groups of the Helmholtz Association on Cyber Security

Completed university studies in computer science, cyber security, IT security, IT forensics or a comparable degree course and multi-year relevant professional experience in a comparable position Practical experience in the design and development of IT security or Cyber security architectures Practical experience in Security Monitoring, Incident Response and the treatment of security incidents Practical experience in vulnerability management and coordination of technical safety measures Practical experience with complex, heterogeneous and cross-site IT infrastructures First practical experience in implementing requirements from BSI IT-Grundschutz, ISO 27001 or comparable standards Remarkable are relevant developments or certifications in the field of cyber security, IT security architecture, security operations, incident response, SIEM/SOC, vulnerability management, IT-Forensics, BSI IT-Grundschutz or ISO 27001 Ability to convey technical facts in a way that is addressable and understandable Readiness to learn, curiosity and a high sense of responsibility Careful, structured and independent functioning Very good knowledge of German and English in word and writing Team skills
