You develop sophisticated opto-mechanical and precision mechanical concepts and assemblies for high-precision laser systems and scientific instruments with exceptional stability, line width, noise and long-term behavior. You will work on technologically central platforms and core technologies for applications in science, quantum technology and industry. Their activities range from the early stage of the concept to development, prototyping and verification to industrialization of standard products with high quality and reliability requirements. Your tasks include: Development and construction of thermally and optomechanically highly stable precision systems and assemblies Conception of mechanical architectures for complex laser and optics systems Technical responsibility for mechanical subprojects over all phases of development Analysis and optimization of thermomechanical stability in the μrad/μm range Development of robust and scalable solutions for adjustment, assembly and series production Design of assemblies with regard to stability, feasibility, costs and reliability Selection of suitable materials, surfaces, joining technologies and manufacturing strategies Cooperation in the implementation and evaluation of FEM simulations and experimental verifications Technical exchange with physicists, optics developers, electronics and production from the concept phase You also play a technical role as a technical consultant within the design and interdisciplinary project teams.

Must haves - That's what you can do with: Complete university degree in precision engineering, precision engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronics or a comparable technical course Multiannual experience in the development and construction of technologically demanding precision systems, in one of the areas of laser technology, opto-mechanics or scientific instruments Experience in the development of thermally stable opto-mechanical systems and precision assemblies Very good understanding of materials, thermomechanical relationships, manufacturing technologies and assembly-oriented design Experience with small to medium series and standard product development Structured, analytical and independent working methods Pleasure to deep technical questions and sound professional discussions Nice to haves - It would be great if you brought the following: Development of laser systems in the UV field Highly stable optomechanics at extended temperature ranges Athermal design and thermal compensation CTE-optimized constructions and thermomechanical stabilization FEM-based structural, thermal or stability analyses Kinematic bearings and precise reference concepts Vibration and vibration-robusted design of high-precision systems Well, if you've heard the following terms: Micro-assembly DFMA cryogenic technology vacuum compatible precision systems Design-to-Cost demanding precision products
