Development of methods and tools for simulating and planning the power transmission network Further development of power flow calculation models for rapid network analysis based on scenario-based, possibly probabilistic current market simulation results Conception and development of optimization models for mapping network shortage management Implementation of methods for automated planning of network reinforcement and expansion measures Implementation of methods for the indicative mapping of stability aspects Evaluation and application of innovative solution methods (machine learning/KI, probabilistic methods etc.)

Provision of the developed tools and training of users* Implementation and interpretation of studies on network security and long-term target network planning Presentation and discussion of the research results in the team and in the management levels Developing efficient and innovative ways of solving time-critical technical and energy policy issues

IHR PROFIL: completed studies of electrical engineering, (energy) informatics or industrial engineering with a focus on energy supply and electrical energy technology or a comparable degree very good programming knowledge in MATLAB, Python or Julia as well as the steady willingness to access new programming languages very good skills in mathematical modeling as well as algorithmic interconnection with new IT systems Experience in the development, application and parameterization of optimization models in the energy industry fast understanding, high analytical thinking, innovative ability independent development of solutions and a high degree of self-responsibility Good knowledge of English in word and writing
