Business Development Manager Zeiss Microoptics (m/f/d)

ZEISS Microoptics belongs to the strategic business unit Photonics & Optics and specializes in the development, production and replication of micro-optical components. These include elements for laser beam shaping or special diffraction gratings. Our innovative solutions are used in established industries as well as in challenging research and industrial projects and make a decisive contribution there.

As a Business Development Manager (m/w/x) in the Industrial Solutions & Research business unit of the ZEISS Microoptics business unit, you are actively involved in future business development. You identify new markets, applications and customer potentials and develop them together with our technical experts on sustainable business opportunities. You act as a central interface between customers, development and production and contribute significantly to the growth of our business. Your tasks include: Identification, evaluation and development of new business opportunities, target markets and fields of application for micro-optical components and systems

Building and maintaining long-term customer relationships and developing strategic partnerships in the industrial and scientific environment

Professional presentation of ZEISS Microoptics' product and technology portfolio at trade fairs, workshops, trade conferences and customers

Analysis of market, technology and competition developments and derivation of business, technology and product roadmaps

Control of complex customer requests from the first idea about the offer phase to the conclusion of the contract

Project acquisition responsible as well as preparation and implementation of contract and price negotiations

Creation and evaluation of technical offers including commercial calculation in close cooperation with the specialist departments

Participation in the development of sales and marketing strategies and the positioning of new technologies and solutions in the market

Completed studies in the technical or economic field or a comparable qualification with corresponding technical background

Multiannual professional experience in business development, technical sales or product management in a technology-driven environment

Detectable successes in the development of new business areas, markets or customer relationships

Strategic and entrepreneurial thinking and the ability to translate technological trends into business opportunities

Ability to provide complex technical relationships with target groups – from development departments to purchasing and management levels

Experience in offering, contract negotiations and commercial calculation

Knowledge of microoptics, diffractive optics, photonics or high-power lasers are advantageous

Self-employed, structured and result-oriented working combined with high self-initiative and hands-on mentality

Very good communication and presentation skills in German and English as well as willingness to national and international missions
