They support our team as Master thesis in the field of modular and automated dosing systems for laboratory applications (w/m/d)

Your tasks • Your profile • What we offer

You work independently in the field of automated dosing of powders, granules and liquids in laboratory environments. You research the state of the art of commercial, semi-commercial and modular metering solutions (e.g. screw metering devices, pump systems, piston displacers). You analyze existing solutions in terms of cost, flexibility, metering accuracy and automatability in the context of research and development laboratories. You develop a modular overall concept for a dosing system consisting of subsystems (dosing modules, scales, containers/cartridges, interfaces, utilities). You design a hardware and software architecture, including interfaces, traceability approaches and workflow/recept management. Optional: You support the practical construction and commissioning of a demonstrator (e.g. with semi-automatic or robotic handling). You document your results and agree regularly with project participants from different disciplines.

You are immatriculated in a master's degree program of mechatronics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, automation technology or a comparable degree program. You have a good technical system understanding and interest in laboratory automation. Knowledge in one or more of the following areas is advantageous: automation technology (motors, drives, sensor technology), robotics (e.g. collaborative robots), programming (e.g. python, control or script languages), CAD/construction or rapid prototyping (e.g. 3D printing) You work independently, structured and enjoy conceptual and practical development work.
