About the work area The Institute of Tropical Medicine, Travel Medicine and Human Parasitology - Department VII of the Medical Clinic, since 2007 Competence Center for Tropical Medicine Baden-Württemberg, is an internationally renowned research institution focusing on infectious diseases and neglected tropical diseases. In addition to basic research, the focus is on conducting clinical trials (from initial human application to admission) in close cooperation with international research institutions worldwide, in particular with the Centre de Recherches Médicales de Lambaréne (CERMEL) in Gabon. New drugs and vaccine candidates are tested for the treatment and prophylaxis of malaria and other globally relevant infections (e.g. Ebola, Covid-19, neglected diseases). The Clinical Trial Platform focuses on clinical trials to investigate new medicines and vaccines for the therapy and prevention of infectious diseases in Tübingen and the partner institute in Lambaréné, Gabun. A large part of the studies are Investigator Initiated Trials who work with new methods such as controlled infection with malaria parasites. Completed training as a nurse, medical/technical assistant (MTA), biological/technical assistant (BTA) or medical/technical assistant (MFA) Additional qualification as a student assistant / Study Nurse Experience desirable in clinical trials Good knowledge required
