Apprenticeship as a train traffic controller with further training as a specialist for railway operations 2026 (f/m/d)

As of September 1, 2026, we are looking for you for the 2-year training as:to trainer: in train control and further qualification to:to train operator (w/m/d) for DB InfraGO AG at the location Freiburg im Breisgau, Singen (Hohentwiel) or Villingen-Schwenningen. The vocational school (Richard-Fehrenbach-Gewerbeschule) is located in Freiburg im Breisgau in the immediate vicinity of the main railway station. The training center is also located in Freiburg im Breisgau, but you also visit seminars in Germany. For the time in the vocational school and in the training center you will be provided with accommodation. In the training, you are in one of the numerous control centers of the railway (called ''Stellwerk'') and learn the following activities: you are testing and controlling the train with technical support, e.g. in the form of screens or display boards, so that the trains take the right path. You decide when to stop, drive or overtake the trains. You serve and control switches and light signals and thus influence the train traffic. In addition, you are in contact with the engineers via Funk to inform them about changes. Your goal is to ensure safe and smooth train traffic. This is what you expect in your training: You familiarize yourself with working on a landing gear and get an overview of the handling of train trips Knowing and operating different control systems Fundamentals of railway operations and the cooperation of all parties You learn to set roads (travel, switch, signals) correctly for trains and so e.g. a safe, punctual and smooth entry and exit from a station Communication and coordination with colleagues in the Stellwerk, locomotive guides: within your working day

Your profile: You have successfully completed your (special) abitur (almost) and your school degree is recognized in Germany Your German knowledge corresponds to at least the B2 language level Even in challenging situations, you keep quiet and keep an overview You are welcome to take responsibility and make decisions Your concentrated and reliable way of working out Communication strength and team skills you also bring
