Your tasks:
They take care of IT services, administrative and data management processes and research software development in an international research environment.
- Research Data Management (RDM): Central contact person for the further development of research software ALF and other simulation codes developed by ITPA (e.g. DMFT, SBMF, FRG). Support for physical research projects through methodological development, optimization and, if necessary, participation in scientific publications. Support of open source software as well as expert technical contact for external users.
- **Research related IT services & integration:** Support and further development of central services (including JupyterHub, FAIRmat/NOMAD Oasis, eLabFTW, Overleaf, GitLab, Keycloak) and their integration into scientific workflows. Physics-specific optimization with regard to model requirements, code structures, scalability, performance and data flows.
- **Research Data Management & Networking:** Coordination and strategic development of research data management in the cluster (FAIR principles, metadata standards, open science). Development and maintenance of scientific networks (e.g. NFDI consortia), participation in RDM projects, development of training formats and standardization of processes in computer-based physics.
- Technical infrastructure and system administration: Own-initiative operation and further development of the IT infrastructure (server, storage, virtualization with Proxmox VE), network configuration and administration of web services and GitLab (including CI/CD). Implementation of updates, monitoring, backup strategies (e.g. Ansible), documentation and IT support for scientific and organizational processes.
Your profile:
- Complete university studies in physics; Promotion desired.
- Practical experience with ALF and the auxiliary field quantum Monte Carlo method, ideally with proven scientific publication activity in this field.
- Experience or strong interest in physics-related research software, numerical methods (e.g. DMFT, Monte‐Carlo processes) and research data management.
- Embossed Linux experience (Debian/Ubuntu, Docker, Git, Ansible, Proxmox VE, Nginx-Reverse-Proxy, Basic knowledge Kubernetes, Ceph).
- Knowledge of research data management (FAIR principles, metadata, open-science workflows).
- Structured, reliable and independent operation.
- Teamability and sensitive handling of research data (GDPR compliant).
What we offer:

In the time and content of your work, the service agreement for the sliding working time ensures flexibility. Remuneration takes place after individual classification according to TV-L.
