The Shared Production Unit (Carl Zeiss Jena GmbH) is the joint production unit and part of a global group of companies from ZEISS. Your role

As a group leader of software development, you will find a key role at the interface of leadership, technology and innovation. You will lead a dedicated team of about 8 to 10 software developers:inside, you will support them with the best possible introduction and development of their potential. You act as a coach and enabler, as a strategist and organizer, as well as as a technical Sparring partner and problem solver. You strengthen confidence, responsibility and continuous learning and create clear framework conditions for agile cooperation, product focus and technical excellence. With your technical understanding, you accompany architectural and technology decisions, strengthen modern working methods and contribute to successfully implementing sophisticated software solutions for innovative optics, mechatronics and automation applications. Structure of the group with regard to roles, responsibilities, interfaces and working models

Detection of software targets from customer requirements, project needs and technological roadmaps

Priority and control of the task portfolio in coordination with project management, product managers and relevant interfaces

Development of software architectures, development processes, quality standards and reusability concepts

Expansion of modern development, testing and deployment environments including DevOps, CI/CD and test automation

Support for technical concepts, cost estimates, supply contributions and decision bases

Transparent planning and control of internal capacities and external support services

Construction and maintenance of a resilient network to internal departments, external partners and technology providers

Complete study of computer science, mathematics, natural sciences or comparable qualification

Multiannual experience in software development and software architecture in the industrial environment

Very good knowledge of C/C++, C#, .NET, Visual Studio and Git

Experience in professional or disciplinary leadership of teams or major software projects

Experience in the introduction and further development of agile development methods such as Scrum, Kanban, Lean or DevOps

Ability to combine technological depth with pragmatism, structure and solution orientation

Communication strength in German and English as well as sovereign appearance towards internal and external stakeholders
