IT Network Engineer Network Operations and Network Security (m/f/d)

1. Operation & administration of the network infrastructure Operation and continuous further development of the entire UMMD network environment (LAN, WLAN, DataCenter, WAN, offices). Administration of central network components (switches, routers, firewalls, WLAN controllers, access points, VPN gateways, TACACS, internal CA, DNA center, SD-Access). Implementation, documentation and quality assurance of all changes according to ITIL (Change, Incident, Problem and Configuration Management).

2. Network Security & KRITIS operation and monitoring of perimeter firewalls and internal segmentation firewalls. Further development of network segmentation (microsegmentation). Operation and curing of the NAC infrastructure (Cisco ISE, 802.1X, MAB). Operation of the internal certification body (PKI) to secure network-related services. KRITIS/ISO documentation = proofs, safety concepts, operational documentation, auditability.

3. Operation of LAN, WLAN, monitoring & projects (collected) You are responsible for the operational, safe and stable operation of our clinical network infrastructure: operation and further development of our monitoring and alerting systems (PRTG, DNA Assurance, ISE Telemetry) as well as the preparation of technical analyses and reports. Cooperation with network-lifecycle measures and infrastructure and new building projects of university medicine. Development of automation scripts and tools (Python, Ansible, REST-API), for example for switchport documentation, config compliance or AP inventory. Close cooperation with IT security, medical technology, server operation and other technical areas.

4. Support & operating activities Operational tasks such as patching, client onboarding, VLAN assignments and port analysis. 2nd-/3rd level support for network disorders. Support for the networking of clinical and medical devices.

Multiannual network experience (LAN/WAN/WLAN, NAC). Very good knowledge of Cisco networks, ideally SD Access, DNA Center and ISE. Experience in handling firewall systems, ideally Palo Alto. Routine in the troubleshooting of complex network and security topics. Experience with ITIL processes, KRITIS requirements or ISO 27001 of advantage.
