At 01.11.2026 we are looking for a department manager*in Kindertagespflege in Ulm (m/w/d) Full time, unlimited Payment is made according to grade A16 up to B2. An employment in the employee relationship is possible overtime.

Your tasks: overall management and administrative implementation of necessary joint tasks of pre-school childcare in Ulm (approximately 6,100 places of care in 113 institutions of different institutions) including the conception and professional development of cross-subsidiary training offers and quality initiatives on current topics of early education Management of cooperation with the institutions, in particular for implementing educational policy requirements (e.g. language promotion, inclusion) and coordination of intermediaries processes Management as well as technical, financial and administrative management of the department and the perception of support tasks Responsibility for the conceptual and demand-oriented further development of the childcare facilities of the city of Ulm (35 facilities with approximately 1,800 seats) Representation of the department inside and outside as well as in bodies (e.g. specialist committees, supra-regional working groups, to the General Staff Council, cooperation partners, free bodies, press etc.) Personnel management incl. supervision (approximately 350 posts / more than 540 employees), of which 40 in management function

Your profile: completed academic studies (Master, Diploma) in an area suitable for the perception of tasks, in particular: social, educational or educational sciences Social education / Social work Public management, administration or similar courses
