Customs Clerk – Customs & Export with a Focus on Defense Equipment (m/f/d)

As a customs officer – Zoll & Export with a focus on armaments (m/w/d), you are responsible for the operational handling, testing and documentation of customs and export-relevant processes. You make sure that our national and international deliveries are legally, fully documented and implemented on time. You work closely with export control, logistics, order processing, sales, compliance and external service providers, and in particular with complex export operations in the context of dual-use and arms goods.

What is your Day to Day Mission: You first, check and process customs and export documents for national and international shipments.

You support the export control review of deliveries, in particular in connection with armaments, dual-use guilts and products subject to authorisation.

You prepare export declarations, accompanying documents and proofs and agree with forwardings, customs authorities and internal departments.

You will review and verify regular customs and export data, such as commodity tariff numbers, country of origin, product classifications and approval references.

You support applications and correspondence with authorities, e.g. via ELAN-K2, the customs portal or comparable systems.

You can document export-relevant decisions and secure a revision-proof deposit.

You identify inconsistencies in processes or data and actively contribute to the optimization of our customs and export processes.

What are you doing? You have a completed commercial training, ideally in the field of forwarding, foreign trade, industry or customs, or a comparable qualification.

You have practical experience in customs and export processing, preferably in a regulated technical or safety-relevant environment.

Knowledge of the handling of arms, dual-use guilders, export permits or BAFA processes is advantageous.

You work carefully, reliably and responsibly and have a very good understanding of compliance, documentation obligations and confidential information.

You can communicate safely in German and also communicate in English in a professional context.

You are safe in handling MS Office; Experience with ERP systems, ATLAS, ELAN-K2 or customs software is a plus.

You work structured, keep track of multiple parallel processes and proactively tune with relevant stakeholders.
