Do you want the energy transition to progress faster and do you want to contribute to the transformation of our energy system? Then you are right with us! We operate one of the largest virtual power plants in Europe in which thousands of electricity producers, consumers and storage units are connected. With our team we are actively working on the implementation of a green electricity market in the future – at our location in the middle of Cologne-Ehrenfeld, in our European branches and, of course, in the home office. Quant Trader_in (w/m/d) Renewable Energies The European short-term electricity market is one of the most dynamic and data-driven markets in general: weather changes, forecasts shift, liquidity fragments across borders. As Quant Trader_in you understand these dynamics and can translate them into scalable, algorithmic trading strategies. With your passion for data and fascination for energy markets and trade, you are right with us. You always meet your choices rationally, think in expected values and like to take calculated risks. You are responsible for commercial decisions and are actively involved in current developments on the market. At the same time, you work closely with a 6-member team that shares knowledge, challenges ideas and celebrates joint successes. Flexible working time models are not an empty flea for us, but a living company reality. Whether full-time or part-time – let us know how we find each other on this point. .

Your tasks • Your profile • What we offer

You independently identify new commercial ideas and alpha sources – especially based on weather, forecast and market data. You continuously develop, implement and optimize algorithmic intraday strategies. You analyze forecast errors (Wind, Solar, Last) and translate them into specific trading signals. You connect quantum models, market data and execution logic to continuous end-to-end trading systems. You run strategies in live trading and are responsible for their performance in terms of PnL and risk profile. You recognize and use market inefficiencies across several European markets.

You have a completed university degree (M.Sc.), ideally with an energy focus, and have over 3–5 years of experience in proprietary trading – preferably in algorithmic/systematic intraday trading on the electricity market or on commodity futures markets. You can present a detectable track record in building profitable trading strategies. You have knowledge of statistics, time series analysis and data-driven work, have very good programming knowledge in R, Python or Bash and are open to the efficient use of AI tools. You have experience in handling weather data, forecasts, forecast errors as well as order book, tick data and market microstructure. You take responsibility for your results, quickly meet well-founded decisions under time pressure and think entrepreneurial. You bring team spirit and understand success not only as individual performance, but as a common result. You speak German and English fluently in word and writing.
