As an expert on complex medical issues, you are dealing with these diverse social-medical issues, among other things: is there an inability to work? On behalf of the health insurance companies, check the inability of insured persons on the basis of medical findings or on a personal presentation. Does the cure/medical fulfill its purpose? You shall draw up opinions in which you shall consider whether a proposed medicinal or auxiliary is medically necessary, expedient and economical or whether an appropriate alternative can be recommended. How to assess the potential of unauthorised treatments? The health insurance companies will instruct you to check the need and benefits of treatment methods that have not yet been approved. Is a rehabilitation useful? You estimate whether a rehabilitation measure can lead to the desired treatment success. You can judge either by file or by exceptions in a personal performance.

In addition, you are responsible for ensuring the quality of care and treatment in the hospital sector. To do this, you will carry out assessments that take place either after file placement in the office or on site in stationary facilities. Use your specialist expertise to answer these questions, among other things: Did the hospital pay off without errors? With your expertise and under the application of social regulations, you will check the hospital bills in the case-pallet system (DRG system). You will summarize your results in the form of an expert report Does the hospital meet the structural requirements for billing complex treatments? You shall draw up expert opinions on whether the hospital complies with the structural characteristics recorded in Operational and Procedure Keys (OPS). Does the hospital meet the quality requirements? You shall examine in hospitals compliance with the quality requirements laid down by the guidelines of the Joint Federal Committee and shall keep the results in an opinion
