Software developer with a focus on API development (remote)

Where to pack • Your tasks include the design and development of our publicly available interfaces. • Technical queries for connection are supported by you and integration problems are analyzed to constantly improve the API. • Your careful monitoring of versioning and down compatibility ensures that integrations work smoothly even after updates. • You implement secure authentication and authorization procedures and protect the API from misuse. • You create a self-explanatory documentation so that external developers like to use our API. • This position can be 100% exercised from the home office, so you don't have to live in Thuringia or the surrounding area to work with us, but you can determine when and where you want to work. • A part-time job is not in the way, but it would be ideal if you spend at least 30h of your time with us a week.

What you should bring • You have a good completed study in the scientific field and bring well-founded professional experience in software development, preferably in Java. • Your thinking is focused on interfaces (APIs). You control the OpenAPI specification and understand what is a high-quality, usable interface. • A predictive, careful way of working as well as a high level of safety awareness characterize you as a human being. • You are able to take the perspective of external developers and to convey complex technical facts clearly and understandably. • In addition, you have knowledge of agile work (e.g. Scrum) and are entitled to continuously develop yourself technologically. • Your first experience with agentic software development (e.g. CLI-based AI programming via Claude Code / Codex) or in the area of Vibecoding can be applied practically to us. • In order to be able to get a grip on us, it is imperative that you master German at least on C1 level.
