At the University Archives of the Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg is as soon as possible a place as

Historian or

in parttime (50%) fixed by 31.12.2027. The remuneration depends on the TV-L.

In 1402, Johann von Egloffstein received the papal foundation privilege to establish a university in Würzburg. This historical event will be held in 2027 for the 625th time and will be accompanied by an annual programme.

Your tasks:

• preparation of historical content for the entire annual programme based on sources of the University Archives, files from other archives and secondary literature,
• Content planning and implementation of historical content for the entire annual programme, in particular for:
• University history content for press texts
• social media contributions; here the content and conception in cooperation with the respective departments of the University
• newsletters for selected target groups with historical content,
• Content framework programme / historical contextualization for all anniversary events, in particular:
• accompanying texts, backgrounds, general information for posters/ flyers for conferences, concerts, festivals, information booths, etc.
• Development of social media texts, preparation of film and television contributions with historical content, image research, collaboration on scripts and interview texts
• the development of anniversary guided tours through the city with references to university history; cooperation with third parties
• Development and design of information texts for historical buildings, university sites and historical persons
• Participation in the implementation of anniversary events

Your profile:

Constitutive:

• A completed university degree (B.A.) in the Department of History, Cultural Studies, Museology or a comparable subject
• Experience in work with archive material and original sources
• Knowledge of old writings (Kurrent and Sütterlin)

Facultative:

• Latin knowledge
• Knowledge of university history and its actors
• Knowledge of the University Archives and its holdings
