As Business Development Manager (m/w/d) you support the Management Board in the strategic development of the IT department of DZNE. Their focus is on the planning, procurement and optimization of hardware, HPC resources, AI components and the entire IT infrastructure. These include in particular: Strategic planning: Development of long-term IT strategies for hardware, HPC clusters, storage solutions and AI infrastructure as well as the creation of business cases, cost-benefit analyses and investment plans

Procurement and Vendor Management: Selection and negotiation with suppliers for servers, GPU resources, network and storage technologies, as well as the management of framework contracts and service level agreements

Technology Roadmap: Definition of technology roadmaps for future HPC and AI platforms (e.g. exascale ready clusters, edge computing) and the application of new technologies (e.g. quantum computing, specialized AI accelerators)

Governance and Compliance: Ensure that all infrastructure projects comply with regulatory requirements (GDPR, IT‐Security standards) and coordination with security / privacy engineering

Stakeholder Management: Close coordination with the Management Board, departments, DZNE Site Representatives and external partners (Helmholtz Association, Industry) and presentation of progress, risks and opportunities in regular reports

Innovation and market observation: Monitoring of market trends in HPC, cloud hybrid solutions and AI hardware, as well as deriving recommendations for action for the DZNE IT strategy

Completed studies in business informatics, engineering, computer science or comparable (priority: Master's degree) Multiannual experience in the IT business development, ideally in research institutions or large technology companies Knowledge of HPC architectures, server and network hardware as well as AI accelerators Outstanding analytical skills, experience in business-case creation and financial planning German and English knowledge, excellent presentation and communication skills Ability to prepare complex technical topics for management
