The Technical Infrastructure (TI) acts as an internal service provider at DLR. The Facility Management (FM) as part of the TI builds and operates DLR's buildings and facilities, thus providing a valuable contribution to the efficient and productive research operation and thus to the scientific success of DLR. The Technical Facility Management (TFM) as part of the FM at the locations in the Southern Region (Oberpfaffenhofen, Augsburg, Weilheim) supports the scientific, often unique, highly complex large-scale testing facilities such as e.g. the space control centre.

The tasks of the TFM include: building and operating buildings, facilities and infrastructure, building and plant documentation as well as planning, ensuring and ensuring sustainable infrastructural development. The Department of Supply Technology in the TFM is responsible for the planning, implementation and maintenance of modern technical facilities in the areas of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and sanitation.
