Unit 61A is responsible for the legal requirements for the processing of asylum procedures by the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) and is therefore directly responsible for one of the core tasks of the Office. National laws, asyl-legal Union law and current case law are examined, assessed and implemented in administrative instructions which regulate the practical implementation of the asylum procedure. In this context, Unit 61B presents countries of origin (HKL) guidelines and works in the context of international cooperation, inter alia, in the preparation of European guidelines. Your tasks

They are responsible for the development and updating of internal service instructions and procedures for BAMF employees in the operational field. To this end, you evaluate national and Union legal bases as well as judicial decisions on asylum procedures and implement these findings in practice

Your profile

We are looking for applicants with a completed (specialized) university degree at at at least Bachelor level in the fields of administration or law, optionally in the fields of economics or political sciences. Alternatively, you have an equivalent degree of a recognised professional academy of the above mentioned disciplines**

For the international tasks, you will bring proven English knowledge at least at level B2 of the European Framework of Reference. You can ideally prove your English skills with a certificate according to the European Reference Framework

Ideally, you have theoretical knowledge of the relevant legislation (especially asylum and aliens law, administrative procedural law, administrative court order, European refugee law, European Convention on Human Rights, Geneva Convention, Dublin III Regulation, Basic Law, EU Qualifications Directive and the EU Procedures Directive and Qualifications Directive)

Importantly necessary for the activity are on-going about one- to two-day service trips per quarter in the federal territory and in European countries within the framework of international cooperation
