Your duties They will work together in interdisciplinary project teams as part of development projects. Your main tasks will include: Conception, (further) development and maintenance of FPGA code in the field of light microscopy

Team-wide collaboration on concepts for realizing (part-) functions by FPGAs

Supporting external development of FPGAs

Document and present commissioning of hardware prototypes in cooperation with other development departments and external partners as well as development results

Working with the design of circuits in which FPGAs are used

Development and implementation of image processing algorithms and high-speed communication protocols by FPGAs

Complete high-level or technical college studies in computer science, electrical engineering or a related field associated with relevant professional experience in FPGA development

Funded knowledge in the handling of FPGAs, preferably Xilinx, in the hardware description languages VHDL or Verilog as well as experience with current simulation tools (e.g. ModelSim)

Secure programming skills e.g. in Python for writing start-up and test tools under Microsoft Windows

Secure knowledge in handling MS Office

Independent, targeted and very careful working methods as well as innovative and team capacity

Very good knowledge of German and English in word and writing for stakeholder management

The place is to be occupied in full time at the Jena site for two years at the Jena site.
