Type of employment: Education

The central training content includes the preparation of food and menus, the preparation and presentation, and compliance with hygiene regulations according to HACCP. Apprentices get to know various cooking methods and preparation techniques, such as roasting, cooking, grilling and dunes. The calculation of goods costs and the planning of menus are also part of the training. In addition, trainees are taught how to prepare regional and international dishes, store food professionally and efficiently plan workflows. Important theoretical contents are nutritional teaching, merchandise and business principles. Other priorities are the handling of kitchen appliances, occupational safety and compliance with safety regulations.

On request the additional qualification ''Vegetarian and vegan cuisine'' can be completed.

Successfully completed schooling (minimum requirement: medium maturity). Very good knowledge of German and English in word and writing. First experience in gastronomy / hotel industry (practice) desirable. High level of flexibility, reliability and durability. Motivation and enthusiasm. Hygiene consciousness. Perfect handling and well-kept appearance.
