Then we look forward to your application as Chief Editor*in (m/w/d) for our “Stahl-Medien” department The department consists in the core of the journals “stahl + eisen”, “stahlmarkt” (each German-speaking) and “MPT International – Metallurgy, Plant Engineering, Technology” (each German-speaking) and of the online presence www.stahleisen.de including weekly newsletter. The titles have an excellent market position in the industry and partly a tradition of over 100 years.

Your challenge: In this position you take the strategic and content responsibility for the further success of our leading specialist publication in the field of “steel media”. You always have a look at your customers – readers and advertisers.

Conceptual, strategic and economic development of our steel media in close coordination with the management and sales management Conception, planning and realization of the steel media including the associated online appearances and special publications Write editorial texts by phone, internet and on-site research Active networking and topic research – including participation in industry trade fairs, congresses and other specialist events as well as customer visits – with the aim of developing and maintaining a sustainable network of business partners, industry experts and authors, as well as of targeting active + potential advertisers Guided tour of our editorial team “Steel Media” including the relevant graphic staff Close cooperation with our areas of marketing and sales – for example in topic planning, cooperation, special publications and events Quality assurance and responsibility for on-time production

You have a completed university degree, a successfully completed volunteer and proven well-founded experience from a specialist editorial with technical or industrial focus – ideally in engineering, metallurgy or comparable You are interested in the steel and iron industry and have a sense of economic and technological developments You have excellent grammar and Orthography skills as well as a good language feeling You bring knowledge about the design, implementation and further development of online appearances Networking and sales-oriented work will make you enjoy You have a high degree of responsibility, customer orientation and communication strength You work independently, targeted and reliable – at the same time you are a real team player with organizational strength You are versed in handling modern communication and research You have experience with Mac OS and MS Office applications Ideally you bring an affinity to technical topics
