Head of Platforms & Operating Systems in Duisburg – for security in NRW (m/f/d)

In Section 24 ''IT-Operation'', in Section 24.1 ''Platforms & Operating Systems'' the role of the field management is to be re-established. Their future task is to plan and implement operational measures to secure a continuous availability of police IT systems (servers) and related services. The provision of basic infrastructures (physical and virtual) as well as the operational support of police data centres also shape the area of responsibility. The main tasks of the body to be occupied are: Technical, organizational and disciplinary management of the subject area ''Platforms & operating systems'' Business responsibility for IT system technology to ensure continuous functionality and availability, disruption and escalation management Conception and development of the system landscape Promoting a service-oriented, independent and quality-conscious operation Conducting employee talks Implementation of budget calculations / analyses and economic calculations Cooperation with other departments and external service providers Participation in procurement procedures in the context of own responsibility Management and consulting of projects and projects related to the IT infrastructure Continuous Optimization of Processes

You have completed higher education (bachelor or corresponding degree) in the field of communications technology / communications technology / computer science or a comparable field of expertise with ideally 3-year relevant professional experience or You have successfully completed further training for the state-tested technician/to the state-tested technician (w/m/d) in the field of communications technology/communication technology/informatics or a comparable field of expertise or a completed further training to the operative professional (w/m/d) with ideally 6-year relevant professional experience in an engineering performance and Multiannual leadership experience in a comparable position You are willing to carry out an extended safety review (SÜ 2). This requires that your residence has been in the Federal Republic of Germany or a Member State of the EU for at least five years. Remarkable are: Knowledge in the administration and operation of modern server and operating system landscapes Deep knowledge in operating systems (Windows, Linux) and current technologies (e.g. virtualization, storage and central infrastructure or Platform services, cloud services) Very wide-ranging and competent IT expertise, also beyond the prescribed field Knowledge in ITIL (service, change, incident and problem management) and IT operations Knowledge of budgetary / procurement law and ideally already experience of budgetary responsibility Conceptual and organizational skills Multiannual management experience and safe handling of control and guidance instruments Very good communication skills Structured operation and secure prioritization and resource management
