This PhD is part of an interdisciplinary team in Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) Testing On-Road & Field Validation and focuses on the development of intelligent methods for automated route planning and test case generation for real and virtual test drives as well as their validation. As a doctoral student, you make a significant contribution to research and development in this pioneering field. Your tasks include: Research and development of new algorithms for automated planning of test paths and test sequences for ADAS functions (L2, L2++, L3, L4) Development of metrics to evaluate coverage, risk and representativeness of routes and scenarios Integration of data sources (vehicle log data, digital maps, traffic condition, weather) for scenario and route parameterization Construction of simulation and evaluation pipelines (hardware-in-the-loop / software-in-the-loop / virtual validation) Support for master's thesis / intern The final topics will be discussed with the university, you and us. Complete Master's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Operations Management, Electrical Engineering, Vehicle Technology, Robotics, Mathematics or a comparable degree course First experience in ADAS/Autonomous Driving, Robotics Pathplanning, Probabilistic Planning, Scenario Generation or Test Automation Knowledge of algorithms, optimization, machine learning and/or probabilistic methods programming knowledge in Python and C++; Experience with simulation tools and map/geodata of advantage Experience with data analysis and sensor fusion is desirable Self-employed, structured working, good communication skills and joy in interdisciplinary cooperation Very good knowledge of German and English in word and writing
