Senior Architect GeoInfo & METOC (m/f/d)

In the Customer Solution Unit “GeoInfo, Analytics & Simulation” (CS GIAS), we provide the required IT for the detection, georeference, analysis, compilation and use of geo-data as well as systems for the execution of weather advice, so that the Bundeswehr can reach an information dominance and a superior decision speed. Our focus is on the implementation of the high requirements in architectural design and the provision of these solutions to meet the high requirements of the Bundeswehr for systems for the production of geo- and weather products and weather consulting. We do not produce geo-products ourselves and do not conduct weather consulting. As a Customer Solution Architect, you are responsible for strategic and technological developments in the GeoInfo business segment. In this role you shape and control the technical architecture and further development of IT solutions. To do this, you as an IT architect advise and support the supply processes, the related implementation projects and the operation of the solutions. You work with internal and external knowledge providers, users and manufacturers to meet the requirements of the Geoinformation Service of the Bundeswehr (GeoInfoDBw).

Responsibility for IT planning in the field of GeoInfo

Recording the requirements with the customer Bundeswehr and deriving the technical and non-technical requirements as well as the transfer of these into a solution design

Responsibility of technical concepts and test scenarios for holistic IT solutions

Coordination of BWI Services, Portfolio Management and Enterprise Lead Architects of BWI with regard to necessary (further) development of service architectures

Responsibility and coordination of technical performance descriptions, development of architectural designs and support of project calculations

Ensuring the integration of new solutions into existing system landscapes

Professional leadership of an interdisciplinary, cross-service team and cooperation in working groups with the Bundeswehr

Completed study with strong IT reference or comparable training At least 6 years of relevant professional experience with tasks in the solution architecture in complex IT environments, ideally in the government and federal defence environment Deep understanding of IT security architectures and IT architectures (cloud and legacy environments) Willingness to cooperate in a DevSecOps team and perception of an end-to-end responsibility of solutions Experience in architectural design of solutions in the environment of KRITIS regulated sectors is desirable Experience with the special requirements and architectures of METOC systems (weather data processing) is desirable. Safe handling of architectural frameworks such as TOGAF and NAF and experience in the application of architectural techniques Experiences in requirements engineering according to IREB are desirable Self-employed, solution-oriented working methods combined with readiness to learn and a good technical understanding flowing German and very good English knowledge in word and writing National and international readiness
