Key job responsibilities

• Ensuring compliance with the German Industrial Safety Acts and Directives as well as the company guidelines.
• Development and implementation of work protection training programmes and promotion of the commitment to work protection measures of management and employees.
• Risk assessment of new processes and machines and the continuation of existing risk assessment.
• evaluation of accidents and statistics and development of prevention programmes to avoid accidents.
• Establishment and maintenance of close cooperation with the local fire brigade, industrial safety authorities, trade unions and the local works council.

A day in the life

As Senior Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Manager, you are responsible for the occupational safety department at our logistics location and run a 6-person team. You work closely with the local management on the continuous operation of the local occupational safety standard and coordinate the implementation of company-internal and legal requirements for occupational safety. You report to the WHS Regional Management in Germany. Their role is crucial to ensure the safety and satisfaction of employees and to supervise their well-being and productivity. You intervene and take responsibility for occupational safety in order to promote a culture that focuses on safe operation.

QUALIFICATIONS

• A Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in accordance with the European Qualifications Framework (EQF), preferably in a technical or safety field or equivalent practical experience.

• Specialist in occupational safety according to § 6 ASiG or DGUV V2.

• Multiannual occupational experience in the field of occupational safety.

• Experience in building and managing a team.

• Strong communication, leadership and team skills.

• Experiences in the application of Lean, 5S or Kaizen methods.

• Qualifications or experience with environmental protection measures are also advantageous.
