Your duties The ifas is represented in the Excellenzcluster Fuel Science Center (FSC) and explores sustainable energy sources (Bio-hybrid Fuels) from renewable electricity, biomass and CO2. The aim is to develop an integrative understanding of production processes and usage systems for the realization of CO2-neutral and low-emission drive technologies. For this purpose, analytical, experimental and simulative methods are used to analyse physical-chemical mechanisms and to develop innovative, adaptive solutions. For cooperation in the Fuel Science Center, we are currently looking for a suitable candidate. Your tasks include independent scientific research topics and close cooperation with interdisciplinary partners from science and industry. In addition, you organize workshops, maintain networks and actively contribute to promoting the transfer of sustainable energy concepts towards application. Within the scope of your activities, you will find a selection (!) of the following topics: Interdisciplinary exchange within the FSC with other institutes in the fields of combustion technology, process technology, chemistry and heat and material transfer Development of alternative non-fossil energy carriers (Ammoniak, Hydrogen, Drop-in fuels), which are used in internal combustion engines as well as fuel cells within the framework of the Cluster of Excellence Development of new injection systems in the field of ammonia combustion, addressing problems such as toxicity, demanding material properties and material compatibility Construction of corresponding concentrated and distributed parametric simulation models (CFD, FEM, Simulink) as well as optimization of injection systems and design of corresponding pump controllers General tasks as scientific staff include: Editing public and industrially funded projects Communication of research results and acquisitions of new projects Writing publications on research results, research applications and reports Support for teaching Support for student work and guidance of student assistants
Successfully completed university studies (master or comparable) in mechanical engineering, CES, electrical engineering, physics or computer science Knowledge in the fields of fluid mechanics, chemistry, thermodynamics and fluid properties Experience and knowledge in simulation and control technology Extensive interest in in interdisciplinary exchange with scientists Interest in material science issues, in particular with regard to material compatibility, corrosion and aging processes
