You will be part of an operating team in the ZEISS Group function IT, which is responsible for ensuring the operation of central or networked IT systems.

The focus of your task is the administrative system support and further development of Linux systems (preferably Ubuntu, RedHat) according to agreed SLA.

To do this, use automation solutions such as Terraform, Ansible and continuously develop them.

In addition, You generally manage server and monitoring systems such as Nagios or Graylog as well as databases as required.

Another focus of activity is to ensure patch management with Foreman / Orcharhino.

In coordination with your team leader, you will ensure that these systems meet the requirements for availability and performance.

You advise users and specialist departments, support them and instruct them.

You will set up IT infrastructure solutions that come from new requirements and translate them into regular operations.

Analyzing errors and disturbances and actively driving their fixation in accordance with SLA or eliminating them from external service providers is one of your tasks.

In this context, you work with the operating support teams within the entire ZEISS Group.

You take on call-ready service (in exchange with several colleagues) to ensure 7x24 operation.

In addition, you will actively participate in the planning, implementation and rollout of various IT projects.

A successfully completed training as a specialist informant and relevant professional experience in the field of system support of various IT infrastructures

High customer-oriented thinking and working methods, strong support understanding and organizational ability

Advanced knowledge in server operating systems (preferably in the Linux environment) as well as advanced knowledge in Linux automation solutions (such as Terraform and Ansible)

Knowledge in the operation of web servers and load balancing solutions

Knowledge of general data center technologies and trends

Experience in dealing with script languages such as Powershell, Python or Bash

Experience in database operation (MS-SQL, Oracle) as well as storage and networks

Ideally, basic knowledge of cloud services and cloud applications and onpremise

Good knowledge of German and English in word and writing
