Number: MER0003ZHS Together for excellence. Our area (ITD/C) is responsible for the central connection of our internal Mercedes-Benz systems to Catena-X. For this reason, we are building key infrastructure components and are looking for motivated employees to take a PhD in this environment. As part of this cross-departmental project, you are responsible for project tasks in the context of building the integration layer between Catena-X and Mercedes-Benz and develop future-oriented concepts in the highly relevant research areas of engineering and the data spaces for your promotion. Your tasks include: Development of Catena-X integration solutions for the processing of information in the field of engineering

Development of the state of the art with regard to data space technologies (such as Catena-X and others)

Developing future-oriented concepts for the efficient use of these technologies in order to obtain engineering data from global supply chains, to process internally and, if necessary, to transfer it to relevant data receivers

Adjustment requirement is the support of the doctoral project by a university lecturer. The selection of an appropriate person is your responsibility. The final topics will be discussed with the university, you and us. Activity can begin from April 2026

Complete study of engineering, computer science, information technology or comparable, with above-average success

High intrinsic motivation to conduct top research

Knowledge in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Information Technology

First experiences in programming with Java, Python or similar

Secure knowledge of German and English in word and writing

Safe handling of MS Office

Commitment and team skills

Interest in developing new tasks and technologies

Analytical thinking and independent work
