Head of Department Building and Maintenance Management (m/f/d)

In order to support our team in the building and conservation management department, we are looking for you as Head of Department from 01.07.2026.

You lead the department professionally and disciplinaryly and bear the overall responsibility for all tasks, processes and projects. You coordinate the use of personnel, accompany selection and incorporation processes and promote the continuous professional development of your team. You ensure efficient workflows, ensure clear responsibilities and ensure the high quality of work results. You control the strategic management of engineering structures, predict the need for maintenance and contribute to central programs and policy issues. You coordinate the entire test program, assume the overall responsibility for compliance with all statutory test intervals and technical regulations and control external engineering offices including demanding contract negotiations. You are responsible for the technical building management, promote technical exchange and take significant measures with internal and external partners.

You have a completed academic degree (Master/Uni Diploma) in civil engineering with a focus on constructive engineering or a comparable qualification. You bring proven leadership experience into senior positions, take responsibility sovereignly and perform safely and bindingly. You have a well-founded knowledge of structural engineering, structural conservation, structural behaviour and structural diagnostics and relevant standards. You are familiar with building and conservation management, procurement and contract law (VOB, UVgO, HOAI) and accident prevention, work and traffic safety regulations. You have knowledge of SIB structures and BIM, as well as distinct planning, organizational and analytical skills. You convince by strategic thinking, target orientation, enforcement ability, communication strength, team capacity and a high degree of flexibility and performance. This distinguishes you as a manager: You think in complex relationships and have a pronounced willingness to design, combined with value-adding behavior and self-reflection. With emotional intelligence and motivating speech, you understand how to inspire, develop and delegate tasks to your employees. You have reflected conflict behavior. You act and think proactively and are eager to decide. You convince by loyal action, serious listening and strong self-motivation. You can promote team diversity and use different approaches.
