Resilient and Smart Infrastructure Systems (RESIS) develops AI and simulation-based methods as well as internationally used emergency management decision-making systems, including JRODOS. In view of new and increasingly complex hazards, RESIS investigates how complex critical infrastructure systems can be designed more resiliently and reliably operated under crisis conditions.

In detail, you have the following tasks: Development, adaptation and maintenance of Linux-based bash and python scripts for automated download of e.g. weather data in GRIB format as well as for extraction, testing, processing and further processing of the required data Planning and implementation of Stability, Functional and Generic Tests in JRODOS Reproduction, analysis and documentation of errors, in particular for selected parameter combinations Support for the limitation of possible causes of errors Preparation, implementation and evaluation of JRODOS simulations for ongoing research and development projects Required extraction, conversion, preparation and provision of selected simulation results, both manually and automated with Python Support in the procurement, installation and support of PCs, software and workplace equipment and licensing matters Participation in the maintenance, updating and technical upgrade of existing server and IT systems

Completed university studies (Bachelor) of the Department of Computer Science Funded programming knowledge, especially in Python Very good knowledge of Linux shell programming with Bash Knowledge in the creation and adaptation of Windows batch scripts as well as in object-oriented programming with Java Experience in the automation of data processing and analysis processes Safe handling of Linux and Windows system environments Ideal basic knowledge of Fortran
