Number: MER00046IH The Mercedes-Benz Cars Procurement & Supplier Quality (MP) division is responsible for an annual purchase volume in the double-digit billion range as well as the quality of all vehicles. In partnership with around 1,500 suppliers in Germany and abroad, the necessary materials are provided for the worldwide production plants of Mercedes-Benz Cars and Vans. Current challenges arise in particular from the topics of autonomous driving, connectivity and alternative drives.

The area of innovation, design and functionality brings into the vehicles, ensures the quality of parts purchased and ensures an optimal maturity of the components in suppliers and international production sites. From the award to the sampling process, components are accompanied and international location strategies are co-designed. The team thus contributes to the successful implementation of new vehicle generations and to ensuring the high quality standards of Mercedes-Benz. The topics of safety, comfort and sustainability are always in focus.

In the Supplier Quality Management internship, you will get comprehensive insights into the quality management of the automotive industry. You support the team in ensuring quality requirements along the entire supply chain and work closely with the areas of purchasing, development and production as well as with national and international suppliers.

Your tasks in detail:

Support of quality engineers in operational daily business Participation in the evaluation, qualification and further development of suppliers Support in the processing of supplier complaints and the follow-up of corrective measures (e.g. 8D reports) Creation and maintenance of supplier overviews and support in monitoring supplier performance based on defined quality indicators Creation, maintenance and automation of KPI evaluations, dashboards and reports with Excel and Power BI Analysis of quality and process data for identifying trends and potential for improvement Creation of a regular supplier newsletter with relevant key figures and quality developments Merging, processing and visualization of data from different internal systems Support in the preparation, organisation and preparation of supplier and process audits Participation in scheduling and tracking of audits Collection and evaluation of customer and stakeholder feedback to assess supplier performance Organisation and preparation of meetings including documentation of results The activity can begin from November 2026.

Study programme in the field of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, technical business management, economic engineering or a comparable degree course, ideally focusing on digitalization Knowledge of quality management and process management are advantageous Good knowledge of German and English in word and writing Very good knowledge in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint High quality awareness and strong technical understanding Analytical and conceptual thinking Target-oriented and innovative working methods and high level of learning Embossed communication and team skills Self-working, self-initiative and enforcement Secure appearance and rapid opinion Moderation skills are advantageous readiness and ability to develop and implement new approaches and digitalization solutions in quality management Please note that your internship at this site must have a prescribed mandatory share.
