Postdoctoral Researcher, Research Center for Regenerative Therapies (m/f/d)
in the Research Center for Regenerative Therapies The position shall be fixed in full or part-time for 3 years as of 1 May 2026. Remuneration is carried out in accordance with the classification rules of the public service collective agreement (TV-L) and is possible in the case of personal conditions in the E13 remuneration group. The project is dedicated to investigating the complex interactions between fatty tissue, intestine and liver in the development and progression of Metabolic Dysfunction–Associated Steatotic Liver Disease (MASLD). The focus is on inflammatory, metabolic and microbial signal pathways, fatty tissue-associated mediators such as IL-6, the integrity of the intestinal barrier and the composition and function of the intestinal microbiota. Another focus is on the role of the nervous system, in particular of the autonomous and enteric nervous system, as a central modulator of the intestine-microbiota-leber-Crosstalk. The aim is to combine neuronal, immunological and microbial mechanisms that contribute to the metabolic dysfunction and inflammation of the liver. The work follows a translational approach that combines human-based multi-omics analyses with functional in vivo and in vitro models. .
