Category Manager (m/w/d) - Schifffahrtsindustrie

On behalf of our client, a company in the shipping industry, we are looking for a dedicated and experienced category sourcing manager at the Rostock site. Are you a professional in purchasing and bring a high commercial competence to develop and implement procurement strategies in critical operating categories? This position is a key role in which you manage complex supplier relationships, secure competitive contracts and create measurable added value for the company. Development and implementation of procurement strategies for the assigned categories to ensure competitive costs, quality and security of supply

Control of procurement, negotiation and contract processes with national and international suppliers

Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders to coordinate purchasing initiatives with operational and strategic business requirements

Conducting market analyses to identify risks, opportunities and emerging trends in the maritime and energy sector

Supplier management, including the pursuit of KPIs and the performance of audits to ensure continuous improvements

Ensuring compliance with procurement policies and internal controls

A completed degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or a comparable subject

A professional experience suitable for the position in purchasing or sourcing, ideally in transport, shipping or industry

Expertise and detectable successes in negotiations and in supplier management in complex categories of high value

A strong capacity in stakeholder management with the ability to communicate and convince across technical and commercial functions

An analytical mindset and excellent Excel knowledge to translate data into feasible strategies

An excellent communication capability in English (written and oral) is essential

Experiences with ERP systems, ideally Microsoft Dynamics Business Central, and with LEAN principles are beneficial
