The Chair of Individualized Building Production researches and develops automated construction processes in the field of architecture, engineering and computer science. The work focuses on the development of digital planning tools and robot-assisted construction methods. In the interdisciplinary team, we focus on machine automation, the use of industrial robotics, digital interfaces, the networking of construction process information and intelligent building site imaging. The chair pursues its goals interdisciplinary with researchers from all faculties of RWTH and national and international partners from industry and research. Your duties As an IT specialist at the Chair of Individualized Building Production (or in the Research Group) you work relevant to the construction and operation of the CARE IT infrastructure, partly on the CARE reference site and on construction site machines. The CARE-IT infrastructure will be designed for the Cluster of Excellence CARE – Climate Neutral and Resource-Efficient Construction required. Specifically, your tasks include: Building and administration of central IT infrastructures • Establishment and operation of servers, workstations, network infrastructure, both on site and in virtual Environments. • setup and maintenance of storage systems for large amounts of research data (e.g. measurement data, Simulation results). You have a successfully completed training in the IT sector (e.g. specialist:in system integration) or a comparable qualification. Ideally, you have the following experiences: Management of IT infrastructures and systems on Windows and Linux. Know-how in the administration of storage infrastructures (e.g. NAS, SAN), in particular in the context of scientific data. Experience in automation using scripts (e.g. Bash, Python). Teamability and the willingness and ability to work independently and independently. Very good knowledge of German and good English.
