The Institute of Medical Microbiology and Virology ensures the entire spectrum of medical-microbiological diagnostics in the fields of bacteriology, parasitology, mycology and virology for the UMG and several external hospitals. In addition, comprehensive clinical-infectiological advice including antibiotic stewardship (ABS) takes place. There is full training empowerment for microbiology, virology and infection epidemiology. Upper medical function in infection diagnosis with focus on cultural microbiology performing microbiological diagnostics including finding Participation in readiness and weekend services Diagnostic and clinical microbiological advice, including participation in the ABS program Participation in research and teaching, especially in student training
