Train traffic controller training 2026 (m/f/d)

As of September 1, 2026, we are looking for the 2.5 - 3 year training as a railway operator: in the train traffic control (w/m/d) for DB InfraGO AG at the site Engen, Eutingen im Gäu, Freudenstadt, Gengenbach, Hausach, Rottweil, Triberg im Schwarzwald or Villingen-Schwenningen. The vocational school (Richard-Fehrenbach-Gewerbeschule) is located in Freiburg im Breisgau in the immediate vicinity of the main railway station. The training center is also located in Freiburg im Breisgau, but you also visit seminars in Germany. For the time in the vocational school and in the training center you will be provided with accommodation. With the training you become the coordinator: in our trains. You are not on the train, but you control the train traffic from a control unit - the central control center of the train. There are various technical versions throughout Germany. During your training, you will get to know various of these control techniques and control trains by mouse click, push button or lever. You set signals (the “amples” for trains) on green or red and set the track with the changeover. So you make sure everything goes according to plan - or reacts flexibly if it comes differently. In close exchange with the driver, you coordinate changes in the course of the journey and bear responsibility for a safe and punctual rail traffic. You are therefore a central part of our team - without you, no train rides. With your little team, you work in the Black Forest on a landing gear close to the happening. Here you can see the trains passing you. The control of the trains usually takes place via levers, push buttons, rotary switches or electronically / digitally by mouse click on the screen. You always keep an overview and make sure that the trains reach their destination safely and on time.
