For our team at the Institut für Fluss- und Auenökologie (IFA) des NABU-Bundesverband in Rathenow we are now looking for a Senior Project Manager (m/w/d). The NABU Institute for Flow and Auenecology (IFA) is a groundbreaking centre of competence that has dedicated itself to renaturing our local waters. As part of various river projects, we are actively engaged in the protection and sustainable development of rivers, aureas and wetlands – ecosystems that are among the most threatened in Central Europe. You strategically guide predefined project ideas from the first idea to the approved funding project and thus provide the basis for effective measures in water development and water retention. You bring complex projects successfully through voting, submission and approval.

Project concepts & application sketches – You will develop existing project ideas to implementable project concepts and develop consensual project sketches – including research, planning, cost calculations and timetables. Voting & Collaboration – You tune project concepts with authorities, different stakeholders, NGOs as well as local actors and ensure sustainable solutions and broad acceptance for voting appointments – also on site. Funding Applications & Authorisation – You will transfer project sketches to complete funding applications, taking into account all the requirements of the donors, and will accompany the application process until the authorisation is granted. Initial project support – After approval, you set up the project management structure, control tenders and awards (e.g. planning and modelling services) and, if necessary, accompany the further project implementation. Project support & quality assurance – You support and advise project employees, formulate project descriptions, create map material and ensure the collection of all necessary documents.

You have an engineering degree, ideally in the fields of hydrology, water management, construction or a professional engineering science, and look back at at at least five years of professional experience in project planning, control and approval procedures. You work safely and confidently in direct local exchanges and develop sustainable, consensive nature conservation projects together with authorities, local stakeholders and land owners. You have good GIS skills and have secure knowledge of HOAI and relevant procurement regulations (e.g. UVgO, VOB). Very good knowledge of German in word and writing, safe appearance and a class B driving licence complete your profile. Ideally, you also have experience in applying for support projects and basic knowledge in hydraulic modelling.

We want to work with you and achieve success together; we initially offer a two-year fixed-term employment relationship, with an extension being sought. We offer you a pleasant and value-adding working environment as well as a versatile and responsible activity in a dedicated team. We support your personal and professional development to keep you up to date. With 30 days of vacation, flexible working hours (in the amount of 40 hours) and the opportunity to work on the mobile, we allow you to reconcile professional and private. Attractive additional offers such as a job ticket/Germany ticket and health prevention programs. .
