Safe foods – protection from contagious diseases – healthy livestock The Landesprüfungsamt (LUA) is the central state service provider in the consumer and health protection of humans and animals in Rheinland-Pfalz. Together with our around 500 employees, we work at five locations in Koblenz, Landau, Mainz, Speyer and Trier on the nationwide monitoring and investigation of food, supplies, medicines and cosmetics, diagnostics and control of animal diseases and the protection of humans from contagious diseases. We are looking at the next time a food chemist (m/w/d) to pay group 13 TV-L in parttime (85%) fixed by 31. December 2027 at the Institute of Food Chemistry Trier (Referat 54) in the department “Foods, Needs, Cosmetics” at Trier. (code: LUA – 2026/044-Wa)

Investigation and legal assessment of foodstuffs under official supervision, in particular food for a special diet Development and validation of instrumental analysis methods for the investigation of food, and process optimization Active cooperation in quality management Training and support of trainees from different professional levels

Successfully completed university studies in food chemistry Completion as a state-tested food chemist / tested food chemist Experiences in the court-proof investigation and assessment of food Experiences in modern instrumental analysis methods, in particular HPLC and ICP-OES, as well as conventional wet chemical analysis Good knowledge and experience in analytical quality assurance Experience in data and sample management and relevant laboratory systems Self-working and very good German in word and writing Class B driving licence and readiness to operate a service vehicle Team and communication skills, decision-making, over-averagely resilient personality, willingness to work flexibly Computer identifiers in standard software (especially Excel and Word) discretion, reliability and trustworthiness
