The Technical Information Library (TIB), Programme D, Open Research Knowledge Graph, is looking for the research group AI for Scholarly Communication (Prof. Dr. Sahar Vahdati) on 1st. September 2026 a:n Projektmanager (m/w/d) The job is limited to the project duration of three years. An extension is possible. Regular weekly working hours are 39.8 hours (full time). In principle, the workplace is part-time. The activity is to be carried out in principle at the Hanover site. Mobile work is possible in proportion to the needs of the service. The grouping takes place in the remuneration group 13 TV-L. We are looking for a DevOps/MLOps engineer with interest in building, optimizing and operating cloud-native infrastructure for scalable, universally applicable AI assistants in the ecosystem of the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC). The successful applicant has well-founded knowledge of software delivery, cloud-native platforms, containerization, orchestration and automation, as well as practical experience in operating reliable infrastructures for AI and data-intensive workloads.

The focus of the activity is on supporting the cloud-native migration, building and operating software delivery and observability platforms and ensuring scalable, safe and reliable deployment environments. These include virtualization, containerization, orchestration, CI/CD, deployment automation, monitoring and observability, secure access management, compute/storage/network setup as well as the migration capability towards EGI and EOSC compliant environments. Your activity includes Conception and development of containerized architectures optimized for EOSC cloud environments Structure and operation of powerful computing environments to ensure reliable, low-ferment operation of universally applicable AI assistants Development of automated software delivery cycles and CI/CD pipelines for frequent and reliable deployments in distributed ecosystems Implementation of monitoring, logging and alerting frameworks to ensure the state, performance and safety of services in the EOSC ecosystem Configuration and maintenance of secure access controls and AAI integrations, including federal authentication and authorization mechanisms

Completed academic studies (master or equivalent degree) in computer science, software engineering, artificial intelligence, data science or a related subject Very good knowledge of Linux basics and system administration Good knowledge of cloud-native technologies, in particular Docker and Kubernetes Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation tools such as Terraform or Ansible Experience with monitoring and alerting systems such as OpenTelemetry or Grafana Experience in the construction, maintenance and automation of CI/CD pipelines Good knowledge of Git and GitHub/GitLab-based development workflows Knowledge of OIDC/OAuth2 at infrastructure level Good programming knowledge of Python and/or Go Very good knowledge of German and English in word and writing Required qualifications Experience in management or orchestration of resource-intensive AI workloads Experience with EGI, OpenStack or the EOSC ecosystem
