Head of Development (f/m/d) – Measurement Technology and Sensors

TEWS has been developing and producing measurement systems for more than 55 years at the Hamburg location industrial applications in demanding industries such as food, animal feed, pharmaceutical, Chemistry and Paper & Packaging. We are world market leaders in the field of microwave-based Measurement technology, holders of numerous patents and our customers include many global players. As a central manager in the management team, you shape the technological future of our Products active with: Not only do you run R&D and develop our innovation strategy but also, together with our management, introduces our company into the next growth phase. We are looking for you Head of Development (f/m/d) – Measurement and Sensors in the context of an age succession.

You take over the overall responsibility for the development department (hardware, software and sensor technology) with currently around 10 employees You report directly to the management You guide, motivate and develop the R&D team and design the interfaces to business development and production You control development projects from the idea to series maturity and are the contact person and competencies for strategic product development You establish efficient project management and development processes and continuously develop them with the aim of ensuring quality, timeliness and resource use (e.g. within the framework of ISO 9001) You develop our technological platform and promote innovation and structured development You act as a technical savings partner for the management and the expanded management team What makes the position special You take a key role with direct influence on product strategy You work in an environment where technical excellence and practicality are crucial You have great design space for structure, processes and team development

Successfully completed studies in electrical engineering, physics, computer science or comparable course of study Practical experience in the development of technical products, ideally in the field of measurement technology, sensor technology or industrial equipment Detectable experience in the leadership of development teams Strength in the management of complex development projects Solution-oriented mode of operation, decision-making strength and desire to shape leadership, empathy, communication strength, flexibility and loadability German and English language skills in word and writing Safe handling of Jira/ Confluence or comparable systems
