Project Manager RFID and Terahertz Sensor Technology

As a project manager in the Industry business segment, you have the opportunity to set your own priorities in the field of RFID and Terahertz applications and thus to develop business strategies with a direct impact on the institute orientation. You are the link between industrial and public contractors and our scientific departments. Your area of work includes the following activities: In your role as a cross-border project manager*in, you first create the time planning and cost calculation, design risk strategies and plan the project structure incl. Communication paths and escalation processes. You keep an eye on the progress of the project, coordinate the processes and document essential steps. For this purpose, you are in regular exchange with the various subproject leaders, project teams and customers and initiate necessary adaptations and countermeasures if necessary. One focus is on the project management within the framework of the Terahertzsensorik power centre, a merger from the Fraunhofer IMS and the Fraunhofer Institute for High Frequency Physics and Radar Technology FHR. Here, the field of application of the terahertz sensor system is to be increasingly visible and marketed towards the outside in order to sustainably attract customers. For example, you initiate workshops and training. You acquire new projects by targeting potential industrial customers and drawing up corresponding offers. For this purpose, you will be supported by employees from the scientific departments who bring the know-how to the existing technologies and, together with you, define the research roadmap. In addition, you form consortia with other research institutions or companies to develop public project applications (e.g. BMFTR, DLR, EU). To increase the visibility of the institute, you will develop content for online and print media, write contributions for social networks (including LinkedIn) and represent the institute at events such as trade fairs or conferences.

Minimum qualifications: Complete academic degree (Master/Uni Diploma) in electrical engineering, communication technology, physics or comparable (promotion welcome but no requirement) with focus on terahertzsensory and/or RFID Experience in conducting research and development projects Embossed communication and presentation skills in German and English to convince within the project team as well as with the customer or the project partners Ability to secure priorities and respond flexibly to changing requirements and new technologies Contact joy to connect to events such as trade fairs or conferences Required qualifications: Experience in handling project management software such as MS Project Experience in cooperation with industrial customers First contact points with strategy or business development
