In Group Research & Mercedes-Benz Cars Development (RD), we design the automotive generations of the future. We mean innovative products with the highest quality and efficient development processes. We are already working on vehicles that will secure the technology leadership of the Mercedes-Benz Group in the future. Our team is working across the project on-board diagnostics (OBD) for Mercedes and Mercedes-AMG engines, both for highly emotional conventional drives and performance hybrids. The functions of the OBD error memory and the Generic Scan tool communication are in particular in our responsibility area. In addition, we coordinate the development of OBD across the project in cooperation with the relevant departments and ensure the highest possible quality of diagnostic functions in future products. We also support battery-electric Mercedes-Benz vehicles in securing and validating the on-board diagnostics (OBD). These challenges include: You are responsible for the further development of tools for analyzing and evaluating vehicle measurements You independently tune requirements with our service provider You are responsible for tracking and testing the correct implementation of the requirements You create and analyze data from error memory and inhibit matrix Expand existing functions in Excel VBA and program small tools to automatically read data You check scan tool outputs in the vehicle (e.g. J1699 tests) The activity can begin from December 2025.
