The LBBW stands for stability and reliability - also in IT: the central securities processes run on a proven, high-performance mainframe platform (COBOL, DB2, IMS, Java under z/OS), which is specifically modernized and converted into a more sustainable, flexible IT landscape. Highly qualified software developers (m/w/d) are looking for this in the mainframe environment, who want to understand growing core banking processes and transfer them to a modern, long-term sustainable IT architecture.

Development and modernisation of our business-critical securities applications on the mainframe (e.g. order management, settlement, inventory management, reporting) Analysis, design and implementation of COBOL programs incl. Data access via DB2 and IMS DB Working with the modernisation of interfaces: Connection to distributed systems, microservices or API platforms Capsulation and step-by-step detachment of monolithic applications through service-oriented and API-based solutionsImplementation of requirements from the fields of securities trading, processing and controlling in reliable, efficient and audit-proof IT solutions

Ensuring high code quality and maintainability as well as compliance with internal programming policies Working in agile or hybrid project teams (e.g. refinements, reviews, test sampling) Support for fault analysis, performance optimization and stabilization of the operation in close coordination with production, architecture and specialist areas Use of repository and analysis tools in the mainframe environment (e.g. XINFO) for impact analysis, quality assurance and documentation

Studies of (economic) informatics, a scientific discipline or a comparable qualification High motivation to unlock the potentials of modern technologies in the mainframework and the development processes (e.g. GenKI, CI/CD) Multiannual professional experience in the mainframe environment as well as sound knowledge in the fields of COBOL development in the host environment, DB2 and/or IMS DB on z/OS and Java under z/OS (e.g. Java-EE/ Jakarta EE, Spring) Safe handling of typical mainframe tools (e.g. ISPF, JCL, Changeman, XINFO) Experience in the design, implementation and maintenance of applications with high requirements for stability, performance and safety Experience in one or more of the following areas: securities or capital market processes / interface and batch architectures in the banking environment incl. Data storage in DB2/IMS / API or integration architectures (e.g. REST, Messaging) for encapsulating mainframe functionality Embossed analytical thinking, high care and joy in understanding and developing complex system landscapes Continuous incorporation into new technologies and bank issues Team skills, communication strength and readiness to actively share knowledge (e.g. code reviews, pair programming, knowledge sessions) Very good knowledge of German in word and writing
