For the best possible provision of our users in the entire RND network, you provide current, relevant content and always keep in mind which topics meet the product promise and which do not. In dynamic news positions, you will create unique and fast-relevant first content – from messages to moving images to other formats – with supra-regional importance for the entire network, thereby controlling the sending of express and push messages and, under pressure, also targeting Breaking News. You co-ordinate, tax and operate news blogs and live hackers, update content continuously and in close consultation with the topic reporters, you will add relevant contexts to ensure comprehensive and detailed reporting. Relevant news sources and competitors are constantly looking at, editing press releases and primary sources, and carrying out independently short review investigations as well as quick fact checks for Daily News. You keep continuous and independent contact with blue light sources such as police, fire brigade and customs, compose current police reports and monitor live information on traffic situations such as flight and train crashes, traffic jams, accidents and blocking. Alarm and standby chains are in communication positions, coordinate briefing to follow-up reporting and thus ensure a smooth editorial reaction chain throughout the network. You are introducing ideas for the use of new tools and formats – for example for the development of the Ticker format – and are actively working to establish AI-based solutions for repetitive tasks in everyday editorial work.

You have gained experience as a editor (d/m/w) or can present a completed volunteer. You can safely master the journalistic news work, capture complex issues quickly and accurately from confusing and rapidly changing information layers. You are absolutely safe in the verification of information, are critically revolving with sources and also keep a clear head in hectic breaking news situations to continue to work structured and carefully. Being a service-oriented Sparring partner for other editors on the network – you feel comfortable in this role as well as in the task of the reliable co-author and internal service provider. You are a friendly and collegial team player who works simultaneously with great self-responsibility, reliability and a high degree of self-initiative. You bring a pronounced digital affinity, have a sense of new tools, technologies and formats and want to actively shape the further development of digital journalism. You are ready to work in changing layers between early morning and late evening, bringing the flexibility for occasional weekend services.
