In a unique concept in Germany, Ammerland-Klinik together with the Bundeswehrkrankenhaus Westerstede forms the Klinikzentrum Westerstede. The Department of Gastroenterology and General Internal Medicine, as well as the Department of Cardiology and Intensive Medicine with common service plans and binding rotation plans of assistant physicians. The medical clinic has an average of over 120 beds in which more than 7,000 patients are treated per year. Patients are treated from all areas of internal medicine with a general-internalistic, gastroenterological, haematological-oncological and cardiological focus. The team works closely with the Klinik für Innere Medizin of the Bundeswehrkrankenhaus Westerstede (Schwerpunkt Pneumologie, Diabetologie und Rheumatologie). The interdisciplinary emergency center of Ammerland-Klinik is the largest emergency in the Weser-Ems area with approx. 40,000 patient contacts per year. The Ammerland rescue service is located at the Ammerland Clinic in Westerstede. There is a dialysis centre under private supervision and an institute for radiotherapy.
