IT Architect WLAN (m/w/d)

As a primary digitization partner of the Bundeswehr, we provide stable, safe and efficient IT services in Germany and abroad, from basic operations to the field close to the application and thus contribute to the continuous increase in the leadership and operational capacity of the Bundeswehr. With over 7,000 colleagues, we operate and modernise one of the largest and most complex IT infrastructures in Germany. We are looking for responsible IT specialists who are convinced that the Bundeswehr-IT will further develop in challenging digitalization projects and thus contribute to Germany's security. Together with us, you are worried about the future digital capability of the Bundeswehr. IT-Architekt WLAN (m/w/d) now and nationwide at one of our BWI locations. We, the “Point of Delivery 2 – NETWORK” department, ensure communication between our customers and ourselves. We are an important and large area of expertise within the BWI and are structured in services (LAN, WAN, Security and WLAN). In our service development department we have the full responsibility as these services are designed and developed. Strategically important decisions for the NETWORK are elaborated here. Here we choose hard and software, develop & test designs, develop improvements of the already existing network and continue to build up the challenges of tomorrow with innovative technologies.

Your tasks: Creation of technical concepts such as design and security requirements for the WLAN service as well as selection and testing of suitable hardware solutions Consulting internal and external customers on requirements and architecture as well as developing cross-service solutions Identification of improvement measures taking into account technological trends and evaluation of their feasibility Support for budget planning, cost calculation and participation in tenders and award procedures Construction, testing and documentation of customer-specific WLAN solutions in the test laboratory before realization with the customer

Successfully completed studies with IT cover and 2 years - or comparable training with about 5 years of relevant professional experience Found knowledge of the planning and design of WLAN solutions, in particular with Cisco technologies, as well as experience in project work, ideally in the regulatory environment Own-sponsored and structured operation High readiness for travel within Germany Very good communication and presentation skills in German and English Ideally ITIL certification Analytical Thinking Power, Responsibility, Creativity, Team Skill and Strong Communication Strength
