Research Associate in the field of Automotive IT for the SALUS project (m/f/d)

The activity is carried out under the European research project SALUS. In this project the TD 31.4 “Vehicle Technology, Automotive IT” of the LZPD NRW project partner is. As a scientific employee/scientific employee (w/m/d), the following tasks are primarily within your competence: You contribute to the design, planning and implementation of a pilot scenario in the field of Car2X communication, which aims at the recognition and analysis of cyber attacks on connected vehicles. You collect and evaluate police requirements for cyber security, digital forensics and IoT technologies and bring them into European project work. You analyze current forms of attack and investigation (mode operandi) in the field of cybercrime and support the development of new forensic methods and procedures. You work with the evaluation and further development of existing standards and frameworks on IoT forensics and create scientific documentation and recommendations for action. You support the transfer of knowledge through the co-design of training and training concepts for police staff and thus contribute to the sustainable use of the project results in police practice. You perform communicative and coordinating tasks in the international project consortium, represent the perspective of the LZPD NRW and contribute to the strategic integration of the project results into the work of the security authorities.

You have a successfully completed academic degree with a degree or master's degree in an engineering, information technology or natural science degree course (e.g. automotive engineering, computer science or electrical engineering) or You have a successfully completed university degree with FH Diploma or Bachelor degree in an engineering, information technology or natural science degree course (e.g. automotive engineering, computer science or electrical engineering) and at least three years of relevant professional experience and the readiness to carry out a safety review (SÜ 1); this requires that your residence has been in the Federal Republic of Germany or a Member State of the EU for at least five years Remarkable are: Interest in topics such as cyber security, connected systems (e.g. vehicles, C2X, IoT) or vehicle communication The ability to work independently on new technical and conceptual issues Good analytical skills and interest in in interdisciplinary cooperation between technology, research and police practice Very good German knowledge and good English knowledge in word and writing First practical experience in at least one of the following areas: IT security, network technology, data analysis, software development, forensics, research and/or technology transfer Experience in project work or cooperation with research institutions, authorities or companies Willingness to occasionally travel within Europe
