Employment type: Limited Working hours: Full-Time Joblocation: Renningen The design and development of innovative safety contracts will be your core focus, establishing formal runtime interfaces to ensure interaction between decision-making and control in autonomous systems.

You will define assumptions, guarantees, and adaptation rules for modular automation stacks to secure system integrity across different abstraction levels.

More over, you will utilize advanced methods of optimal control, sequential decision-making under uncertainty, and gain learning to develop robust, high-performance solutions.

Using machine learning, you will be able to achieve the feasible margins, uncertainties, and the safety contracts themselves from real-world data.

Translating research findings into concrete applications is a key goal, especially in the domain of vehicle motion control and autonomous driving, to safely bridge the gap between high-level decisions and physical reality.

Last but not least, you will contribute significantly to making learning-enabled automation modular by design, guaranteeing safety by construction, and enable verification at runtime.

Education: excellent master's degree (or equivalent) in Control Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, or a related field Experience and Knowledge: solid background in optimization or control and programming proficiency in Python Personality and Working Practice: you are enthusiastic about technical challenges, like to develop solutions in interdisciplinary, diverse teams and implement them up to the functional model; you are willing to take initiative and responsibility; you possess the ability to approach tasks consistently, methodically, combined with a consistent focus on finding solutions and a dedication to delivering high-quality results Languages: very good English, German is an advantage
