The Foundation Layer (FL) is the technical foundation of REWE digital: Network, Datacenter, Compute, Storage, IAM, Cloud, Data and Platform Infrastructure Services. We provide stable, secure and highly automated platforms, where product teams can deliver value quickly and reliably – from development to operation.

For this central area we are looking for a:n Engineering Manager:in – Foundation Layer.

Tasks that keep you posted: Discipline leadership and holistic development of IT Engineers as well as promoting a powerful, learning engineering culture Ensuring balanced resource and capacity planning including Recruiting, talent management and employee retention Development and implementation of a sustainable engineering strategy (scalability, resilience, security, standardization, automation) Establishing technical standards, architecture and governance principles in compliance with compliance and safety requirements further development of the matrix organization and ensuring effective cooperation between leadership, product teams and adjacent areas (architecture, security, product domains, operations) Management of budget, resources and partners as well as promotion of cross-organisational initiatives and future topics (e.g. Multi-Cloud, Observability, Zero Trust, Automation incl. AI)
